Connect a line or a mailbox
Say what it will be called and ask for a link. The worker mints it within two minutes; send the link to whoever owns the phone or the mailbox. A WhatsApp link is opened on a computer and the code scanned from the phone (Linked devices); a mailbox link signs in to Google or Outlook. Links last a day. Polling starts on the pass after they connect, from that moment on.

Sign off every conversation quiet since a date, as handled and as reviewed. History stays readable; the queues start from here. A conversation that has moved since the date is never touched, and any contact who writes again comes straight back onto the desk.
